Region 17 Directory Information

The Region 17 Directory Committee has a marketing strategy to increase the number of advertisers and the circulation of the Region 17 Directory.  Advertisers will receive all the benefits of the circulation of the 2000 printed directories that will be circulated at major horse related events in your area.  Each full page advertiser will receive 50 reprints of their ad. 

Ad Submission

Deadline for the 2010 Directory

November 6, 2009.

All ads must be sent to your respective club representative in time to be submitted with the club package.

Ads may be sent in as hard copy or as an electronic file.

Sizes and Prices

The directories are printed on 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” heavy smooth paper with coil binding.  There are three sizes of ads: full page, half page and quarter page.  Color is available on full page ads only.

Cover Ads

Cover ads are full page in colour only and must be Camera Ready.

There is a Waiting List for the 3 Cover ads - inside front, inside back and outside back. Contact the Directory Chair (see below) for more information

Preparation of the Ad

Contact a printer or graphic artist in your area to produce your “Camera Ready.” ad. 

Provide the artist with the exact size your ad will appear in the Directory. Full page ad  - 5”x8”; Half page ad - 5”x4” and Quarter page ad - 5”x2” or 2”x4”.

Please submit the original photographs (color or black and white) with your ad.  No screened half tones please.  Label the photos on the back with a sticky note or a small piece of paper taped to the back.  Do not write on a photo with a ball point pen.  Special instructions for cropping should be included on a separate sheet.

Electronic File Requirements

All digital files must be MAC compatible in one of the following formats:
  -  Quark Express, version 6.5 or lower
  -  InDesign
  -  Adobe Illustrator, CS2 or higher
  -  Adobe Photoshop, CS2 or higher
  -  High resolution PDF
  -  Corel Draw (Freehand or Corel Draw documents MUST be exported as an EPS file, PDF or Illustrator document. Whenever possible, outline or path the type to avoid font substitution)
Note:
The following programs do not support the high end out put required for print production and WILL NOT be accepted:
  -  MS Publisher, MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel and Corel Word Perfect

Documents should be built to trim size with crop marks included.

When providing documents which bleed, allow an additional ¼” image on each size.

Files may be supplied in any of the following ways: CD, DVD, USB Flash Drive, Email, FTP site.

Fonts:
  -  Fonts must be included and in folder suitcases – Postscript Type 1 fonts only;
  -  When supplying PDF files, ensure the fonts are embedded.

Images:
  -  All images (logos and pictures) MUST be at least 300 dpi;
  -  Resolution for grayscale or colour images must be 300 dpi;
  -  Resolution for Black & White line art must be 1200 dpi;
  -  Image format should be TIFF, EPS or JPEG.
  Note: images from websites will not work. The resolution is too low for print.
